After a trying few days in Dover, we finally got on a flight to Spangdahlem, Germany. While it was a freezing flight, we did land safely yesterday afternoon. One of the airmen at the terminal gave us a ride to housing, where we were able to do laundry and get a wonderful night's rest (in a three bedroom apartment - crazy!). One 0530 taxi ride to Ramstein later, and we're sitting in the passenger terminal waiting for the seat release for the only flight to Sigonella. They will take anywhere from 0-6 passengers, so we'll see what happens! If we don't make this flight, we should be able to take an afternoon flight to Aviano, Italy and take a nearby train to Catania, Sicily from there.
We're getting closer!
Update: There were three open seats on the C-21 to Sigonella...AND WE GOT THEM! We're supposed to board at 0900 for a 4h15m flight, but it's insanely foggy so we might be delayed a bit. Either way, we'll be landing in Sicily later today! YAY!!!
