Checking on Baby

28 Weeks

We rescheduled our 28 week appointment with the midwife a little late, and went to see her just a few days shy of 29 weeks. Earlier in the day, AJ learned the word "midwife," which is so cute to hear him say, and he knows now that it's her job to "catch the baby." It's fun to talk with him about the baby and the birth now that he's a little more interested (sometimes!), and it always makes me grin how excited he is to help Dr. Lori at our appointments.

Helping Dr. Lori measure Mama's belly.

The belly's measuring about 24-25 cm, so technically a little behind, but we (meaning James and I and our midwife) aren't concerned at this point. Baby has been lying transverse (side to side instead of head up or down), so that could explain the smaller measurement. She did suggest that I eat more protein, just to make sure that my diet doesn't contribute to less-than-optimal weight gain, but she said baby feels great and has plenty of fluid in there. Baby's heart rate was right around 145-150 bpm again, and I'm up about 20 pounds at this point. We only have one more in-office appointment (on the 22nd! so soon!), and then Dr. Lori will be coming to our house for the rest of our visits. I can't believe it's almost that time already!

29 Weeks - Can you tell we waited until someone was a little too tired to attempt pictures?
